Kenneth Braithwaite fills position that was open for months.
On Friday, the Senate voted to confirm President Trump’s pick to be in charge of the Navy. Kenneth Braithwaite was selected for the role following his career as a U.S. ambassador to Norway since 2018. During his confirmation hearing, Secretary Braithwaite pledged to bring order to a branch of the military he described as being in “rough waters” after a “failure of leadership.”
One key area that Secretary Braithwaite said would mark the start of his role is the handling of an outbreak of COVID-19 on the USS Roosevelt. He went on to express that that and other previous scandals were “indicative of a breakdown in the trust of those leading the service.” He will begin serving in his role immediately.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would use Secretary Braithwaite to lead the Navy effectively.
- For President Trump to have wisdom on how best to fill his administration.
- For the Senate to be guided by the Lord on who to confirm for open positions.
